Louisiana Workforce and Education Strategy Academy

At the request of the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC), the Center for State Innovation organized a one-day academy to discuss the following issues facing the LWC:
- Incorporation of Louisiana Rehabilitation Services
- Streamlining Unemployment Insurance and connecting claimants with assessment, training, and re-employment services
- Better integration of Community Service Block Grant funded services into the existing workforce system
- Better integration of TANF and Food Stamp work programs
Non-CSI experts included Center for Law and Social Policy, Corporation for a Skilled Workforce, Institute for Community Inclusion, John Hopkins University - Institute for Policy Studies, John J. Heldrich center for Workforce Development, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Oregon Employment Department, and a former Deputy Director of the WI Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
