Policy Events By Type

Since opening its doors in September 2007, CSI has organized various types of events for State Executives and Senior Staff in a wide range of policy areas. CSI brings its own expertise and that of other national experts drawn from our network of partnering organizations who, like CSI staff, provide these services for free.

Policy Briefings

Policy Briefings look at an issue of state concern and suggest progressive policy options, their implementation requirements, appropriate messaging, and metrics on success.

Webinar Briefings

CSI frequently uses webinars as a convenient forum to follow up on in-person events, to move discussions forward on specific topics agreed upon in other venues.

Strategy Academies

The more in-depth Strategy Academies focus on a pressing issue within a single state, taking the discussion further, often to the point of detailed design of new state initiatives.

National Conferences

State problems are often regional and best solved through collaboration among neighboring states. Also, success in a particular policy innovation is often helped if several states, whether contiguous or not, pursue it together. CSI has found itself particularly useful bringing leaders from many states together to strategize on issues of common concern.
