Clean Energy Roadshow Collaboration

CSI joined a coalition including CEN, Change to Win, Sierra Club, LiUNA, CSG, BGA and a growing group of national and regional organizations, working in close collaboration with DOE to promote the progress made by states in driving innovation on energy efficiency building retrofits and to share that progress with the investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers and federal agencies which are developing national models for supporting and funding those retrofits. Focusing primarily on the residential and small-scale commercial retrofit sectors, the Roadshow travels around the country to highlight strong business, labor, and community support for action and promote various state-based strategies. Regional stakeholder efforts are critical to creating a sustained market for retrofits, and the Roadshow highlights the innovation underway in each state and connects those projects to national efforts. Events which CSI has helped organize as part of the Roadshow have included:

Wisconsin Clean Energy Roadshow
February 1-2, 2010

CSI worked closely with the other Roadshow coalition members and local partners to pull together two days of meetings and press events in Racine, Milwaukee and Madison to help build the coalitions and stakeholder linkages necessary for a coordinated approach and to bridge jurisdictional divides to help the state move aggressively to implement state models and retrofit programs on an accelerated schedule in a collaborative model. The meetings included a high-level strategic meeting among key state figures, a stakeholders and community group meeting, a smaller meeting with key state investors and entrepreneurs, and a breakfast meeting between state agencies and key legislators, as well as multiple press events. Attendees included the mayors of Racine, Milwaukee and Madison, as well as representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Administration, Wisconsin Office of Energy Independence, Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation, Wisconsin Department of Administration, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, and members of the Wisconsin Legislature.
