State Chief Financial Officers' Roundtable
CSI organized a meeting of progressive State Chief Financial Officers and high ranking treasury office staff from the states of CA, CT, FL, IL, MD, NC, NJ, NY, OR, and PA. Non-CSI experts at the meeting included staff from CAP, CNT, NAF, and the TARP Oversight Committee. The meeting focused on the impact of the financial crisis on the bond market, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and opportunities for leveraging state pension funds to pursue progressive policy goals including infrastructure investment. At the conclusion of the session, the assembled state delegations expressed their interest in continuing the group as an ongoing forum to share ideas and pursue common goals. CSI is facilitating the development of this group.
